Beta draft. Mazalchik is in a free beta, and this document is a working draft that is still being reviewed. It describes what the service actually does today. If anything changes in a meaningful way, we'll update this page and email account holders before it takes effect.
Welcome to Mazalchik, a service operated by Mazalchik. By creating an account or using the site you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Mazalchik.
Your account
- Accounts are created and managed by a parent or legal guardian who is 18 or older. You're responsible for how your children use Mazalchik under your account.
- One account is for one family, with up to 6 children's profiles. Keep your password private and tell us if you think someone else has used your account.
- Please give accurate information about yourself. For your children, a nickname is enough.
The beta
- During the beta, Mazalchik is free. It's provided "as is" and "as available": expect the occasional bug, changes, and content that's still being polished.
- If we introduce a paid subscription, we'll tell you in advance. We will never charge you without your explicit agreement, and you'll be free to decide whether to continue.
- We may change, pause or stop all or part of the service. We'll try to give you notice, and we'll give you a way to download your data first.
Our content
- The stories, illustrations, characters, design, and music arrangements and notation on Mazalchik are original works protected by copyright.
- We give you a personal, non-transferable license to use them inside Mazalchik for your family's own, non-commercial use. Please don't copy, record, redistribute or sell them without our written permission.
- Some melodies are traditional or classical tunes in the public domain. The arrangements, simplified versions and notation on Mazalchik are ours.
- Music teachers may recommend Mazalchik to students and families and share their referral link. Showing the site during a lesson is fine.
Your feedback
If you or your children send us ideas, ratings or comments, we may use them to improve Mazalchik without owing anything for them. We won't publish anything that identifies you or your children without your permission.
Fair use
Don't try to break into or overload the service, access other people's accounts, scrape content, or use Mazalchik in a way that harms the service or other families. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms.
Music and safety
Mazalchik is an educational and entertainment tool. It isn't a substitute for a music teacher, and it doesn't assess or certify a child's ability. Please supervise young children with their instruments and keep the volume at a comfortable level.
Disclaimers and limits of liability
We work hard to keep Mazalchik available and accurate, but to the extent the law allows, the service is provided without warranties of any kind, and we aren't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from its use. Because the beta is free, our total liability for any claim is limited to $50. Some states don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
Ending your account
You can stop using Mazalchik and delete your account at any time from the Parent dashboard. Deleting it removes your family's data as described in the Privacy Policy.
Changes and governing law
We may update these terms. We'll post changes here, and for material changes we'll email account holders before they take effect. Continuing to use Mazalchik after that means you accept the updated terms. The governing law and venue for disputes will be set out in the final, reviewed version of these terms.
