When the sun sinks into the sea, the whole old harbor town goes to sleep. Well — almost the whole town.
In the attic of the clock tower, a hundred big eyes pop open. It's the fruit bat colony, waking up for breakfast — in the middle of the night.
One of them has been awake for ages. She hangs upside down, wrapped in her wings like a coat, watching the world.
Topsy. Private Eye. The only detective in town who sees everything upside down — which is exactly why she notices what everyone else misses.
How the music works
Every few pages, the story pauses for a music moment that fits the scene: a lullaby, a chase, a spooky tune, a victory march. Your child plays a short piece on their own instrument (piano or keyboard, guitar, ukulele, recorder, harmonica, tongue drum, drums or darbuka) at exactly their level, rates how it went, and the next pieces adjust. The Upside-Down Detective has 9 music moments across 22 pages.
