This is Max Presto. Max is a magician-in-training.
Tomorrow is the school talent show, and Max has a plan: pull a rabbit out of a hat.
He bought the hat at a yard sale for one dollar and a lollipop. Inside was a tiny label, but Max was in too much of a hurry to read it.
How the music works
Every few pages, the story pauses for a music moment that fits the scene: a lullaby, a chase, a spooky tune, a victory march. Your child plays a short piece on their own instrument (piano or keyboard, guitar, ukulele, recorder, harmonica, tongue drum, drums or darbuka) at exactly their level, rates how it went, and the next pieces adjust. GULP! The Hat That Ate Everything has 6 music moments across 12 pages.
